“Freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose.” And in June 1970, Janis Joplin and her newly formed band, Janis Joplin Full-Tilt Boogie, really had nothing to lose. After rehearsing together for only a month and a half, the group’s debut at the Freedom Hall in Louisville, Kentucky started off slow, but ended in a near-riot. An audience that really wasn’t Janis’ crowd quickly became captivated by that iconic gin-mama voice. The conservative southern town was grateful for Janis taking them away, and (really) didn’t want it to end. A musically historic event that marked when Janis got her umph back, the group was a harmonic match for her voice, playing the show together on the same wavelength. Represent the legendary concert where the queen of rock was able to take off and explore the incredible ranges that makes her one of the GOAT’s. Featuring the promo poster for the concert, it’s a mind blowing collage that knows how to get a party started, just like Janis. So get it while you can.
